Everyone Loves A Good, Time Saving Cleaning Hack

Everyone loves a good time saving cleaning hack. Which is why we are helping you save time by scouring the internet for the latest and greatest tips that will have your home sparkling clean in no time.

cleaning hackTip #1 –
Prevent Mess Overload –

No one likes to get up after a meal and head to the kitchen for a deep clean. Cleaning the kitchen up as you go and then finishing while your meal is cooking is a great time saver. Wash up any dishes you used, wipe down the counters and maybe even sweep or spot clean the floor. This is also a good time to clear out the recycling box or perhaps empty out the compost bin if you keep one in the kitchen.

Tip #2 –
Compost Bin –

Speaking of compost bins, I wanted to share with you one tip that I use in my own kitchen regularly. I keep a small bowl in one of my bottom fridge drawers. I use this bowl to hold my compost items until it is full. This way I am composting without all the mold growth and fruit fly collection. It works really well, especially in the warmer months.

Vinegar Is Your Friend… –

Except if you have granite counter-tops. Then I would recommend you stay away from vinegar as it will take the finish right off the surface. If you don’t have granite surfaces then feel free to use vinegar, along with its favourite counterpart baking soda. Using those two hand in hand will have you smiling from ear to ear.

Food Baked onto The Pan? –

Fill your pan with hot tap water and add a splash of dish soap. Toss in a dryer sheet (I cut them in half to make them last longer) and leave it to soak for a bit. Depending on how badly the food has baked on will determine the length of your soak. Come back and wipe off the baked on food with little to no effort. Wash as you normally and admire how sparkling clean it is without all the scrubbing.

Tip #5 –
Easy Clean Microwave –

If you are anything like most of us your microwave looks like a bomb went off in it more often than it should. What if I told you, that you could have it looking as good as new with zero effort? Next time the microwave looks like a war zone place a bowl of water with lemon juice squeezed into it in the middle. Run the microwave on high for 3 minutes. Do not open the door just yet, instead leave it to sit for 5 minutes. Then remove the bowl of lemon water and wipe everything down. If you have any stubborn spots remaining, dip the corner of your cloth into the bowl of lemon water and some baking soda. Use this to scrub away any stuck on food particles. BAM!! Sparkling clean and fresh smelling once again.
