There’s nothing nicer than a beautiful bouquet of flowers in your kitchen or living room. Flowers brighten up any living space and bring a beautiful sight and scent of spring. But have you ever wondered how to keep your flowers fresh, particularly in the summer heat? Well, we’ve done a little research to bring you the best 4 tips to keep flowers fresh!
1) Use flower food
Flower food works like magic. Empty it into the vase and fill the vase 3/4 full for the best results. Add more food when you change your flower water every few days.
2) Keep your flowers cool
Store your flowers either outside or in the fridge overnight, and keep them out of direct sunlight to preserve them and keep your flowers fresh for as long as possible. We put this to the test and found our flowers stayed fresh & in bloom for 10 days!
3) Trim stems at an angle
Trimming stems at an angle helps your flowers to absorb more water, meaning they stay healthier for longer.
4) Change the water
Remove foliage from the water and change your water every 3-4 days. Old leaves can cause bacteria to grow in the water which will reduce your flowers’ lifespan.
